Attractions

Hengchun Peninsula, at Taiwan’s southern tip, extending out like the tail fin of a fish. It is surrounded on three sides by the Taiwan Straits, Bashi Channel and the Pacific Ocean.  Warm waters, ocean floor reefs, tropical fish and abound with marine organisms are some of the many wonders of this area. Coral reefs skirt the coastline and there are continuous stretches of shell sand beaches, as well as abundant coastal vegetation. Due to its geographical location, it has a tropical climate, which has resulted in rich natural resources and scenic landscapes, as well as a unique cultural style.

We plan half-day tours and Kenting Scenic Spots shuttle to take you to visit the rich natural landscape and ecological treasure in Kenting.

Guanshan

This area is made up of elevated coral reef terraces, and at its highest point reaches an elevation of 152 meters. From the summit of Guanshan , look to north to see the slanted terraces along the Strait, coral reefs, and fishing village dotting the West Coast. Look to the east to take in Hengchun Valley, Longluan Lake and the eastern hills. To the south it is possible to see the entire coastline from Maobitou to Eluanbi. Guanshan is the best place in Kenting National Park for viewing the sunrise or sunset.

Houbihu

Houbihu is the largest fishing harbor in Hengchuen area. The major harvest are umbrella swordfish, flying fish, and Mahi-mahi during spring and summer seasons, while white and black swordfish during autumn and winter. The newly completed yacht dock is the main ocean recreation point of the park.

Nanwan

Nanwan, formerly known as Ta Pan Le, was a whale fishing place during Japanese colonial time but is now a fishing village. The soft, clean sandy beach stretches for 600 meters and is ideal for all kinds of beach activities. In Nanwan Recreation Area, shower rooms, toilet facilities, fast food restaurant and parking are available to visitors.

Kenting Forest Recreation Area

Formerly known as Kenting Park, Kenting Forest Recreation Area was developed as a tropical botanical plant garen during Japanese colonial time. The tour includes various views of Looking-Glass tree, Fairy Cave, Silver Dragon Cave, the Observation Tower and the Valley of the Hanging Banyans.

Shaiowan

Shaiowan is a shell sand bay, located in front of Howard Beach Resort Kenting. The arc-shaped white sandy beach is the advantage of swimming and sunbathing, and it is also a paradise to enjoy coral, tropical fish and other submarine landscapes.

Eluanbi

Eluanbi is Taiwan’s southernmost cap, and marks the boundary between the Bashi Channel and the Pacific Ocean. Eluanbi Park contains a unique coral vegetation, as well as tropical coastal plants, marking it an excellent natural botany classroom. The park also contains one of Taiwan’s most famous historical landmarks, a lighthouse completed in 1882. Inside the park, Taiwan’s oldest prehistoric settlement has been found, dating back some 5000 years.

Lungpan

Lungpan is the great grassland beside the Jia-Oh highway and near the beach of Pacific Ocean. This area is based on the tableland of coral reef limestone. Eroded by the rain, the terrain of limestone shows a variety of crumbled ridges, subterranean limestone caves, and red soil.

Fengchueisha

The Hengchuen Peninsula has very distinct dry and rain seasons. The heavy rain in summer will drain out the sand from the hills to the seashore while, the strong wind in winter will blow the sand from the seashore to the hills, forming spectacular views of sand cascade, sand river, and sand hills.

Kenting Forest Recreation Area
An arboretum established over 100 years ago, exhibiting hundreds of tree species both of native and exotic origine, limestons caves and an overlook commanding the panorama of forest and sea.

Kenting Scenic Spots-Sheding Nature Park

Sheding Nature Park
This area has undulating coral reef topography, with cracks, limestone caverns and grasslands. In this park, there is an abundance of nectar sources, and therefore it is possible to see groups of butterflies feeding together. Due to the long-term exposure to winds especially during the northeastern monsoons, the trees are spread out like large bonsai trees. The eastern side of this park has been set aside as a place for the Formosan spotted deer to reproduce and rebuild their population. It’s also an important wildlife repopulation research area.
